Almost anyone that owns a web site or a blog nowadays knows the importance of Search Engine Optimization, back links, and marketing. But if you're new to the game and you haven't heard of any of these terms, then I'm about to give you a crash course on what they mean as well as what they can do for you, your website, and your wallet. Search Engine Optimization and marketing techniques can reward you in many different ways. If you write posts or blogs on your website, make sure the titles are "keyword rich" but don't overdo it! If you would like a lot of real people visiting your sites that are actually interested in what you're talking about you should get in to back links! Back linking is basically a link back to your site. You can enter in back links to your site on other people's blogs and websites, through article submission, as well as directory submission. And, as always, please make sure your sites are user-friendly. This isn't even really an optimization reason issue per se, but people will come back to your site, if they can get around easily. Here are some more quick ways to ensure you're optimizing and marketing your sites correctly; write a small description about your web page and include some relevant keywords through Meta Tagging, if your site allows "tagging" make sure when you write a blog or a post that you add a few relevant keywords, submit your site to several search engines online using the paid or free option, and lastly make sure you promote your websites! There are tons of different ways to market your site for free such as social networking classified ads, bulletins, AdWords, groups, links, etc. Remember if you're selling something on your site, or even if you just have something like contextual advertising on it, you need traffic to make money! You can't just let your website sit there and expect to make anything from it, or expect your PR (page rank) to get higher!
