The basis behind article marketing is to give people information. Whenever I have wanted to learn about a topic, I simply go to a search engine and type in my subject. If I am unfamiliar with the topic, I would type in the "Subject" + "Articles" to see what I could find. This could be a hit or miss depending on the subject. However, the real question is why would I want to perform a search like that? Well, that is because I am hoping to find informative articles about the subject. Notice I said, "Hoping". Not everyone is a Pulitzer Prize writer, however, if you search the major article directories; that should yield you decent results. Nevertheless, the point I am making is that more than likely you can find good information on your topic at established directories. So what does this have to do with advertising? Not everyone may search exactly as I have explained above, but this is generally, what people are doing to find information on the internet. When you write articles and submit them to article directories, they let you use what is called a resource box. The resource box is a place you can insert information or should I say links about you, and your website, and what you are offering. Using the resource box is how you can use the power of article marketing to add a huge boost to your advertising and marketing efforts. When people click on the link in your resource box they are sent to your website. Voila! Therefore, if you have done a good job of writing and keeping them interested enough to read through to the end of your article, and to your resource box, then you have a very good chance of getting them to your website. You need to construct some catchy information in your resource box though. For example, if your article is about dog grooming, you do not want to say something like "Subscribe to my newsletter". You always want to give them a call to action in your resource box. You should say something like, "You can get Free tips on dog grooming delivered in every issue of Dog Grooming Newsletter by subscribing here". You have a choice of things you can do once they reach your website. You can offer them a free gift for subscribing to your newsletter, or you can send them to a powerful salespage about the topic you wrote about, or you can just offer them free information. I prefer to offer them a free gift in exchange for signing up for my newsletter, because the ultimate goal is to get targeted subscribers. You can always sell to them after you have built a solid relationship with them and they have learned to trust you.
